Frequently Asked Questions
Questions about OnWay.
The platform is still being developed, so some operational details may be refined before public launch.
OnWay is a planned shared-journey platform connecting drivers already travelling in a direction with passengers or suitable delivery requests going the same or a similar way.
The core concept is different from a traditional on-demand taxi model. OnWay focuses on journeys drivers are already making, although operational rules may evolve before launch.
The planned passenger choices are Bike, Tuk, Car and Van. Driver registration can include more detailed vehicle subtypes.
Yes. The planned Passenger App supports both current searches and future date/time searches.
A passenger can post an open ride request. Matching drivers travelling now or scheduling a compatible future journey can be notified and may choose the request.
Yes, where a suitable driver has opted into Goods/Parcel Transport or Document Delivery and the request complies with capacity and prohibited-item rules.
The planned Exclusive Ride option allows a passenger to reserve remaining available seats by paying a configured percentage of those seat charges. The initial planned default is 75%, but this can be changed by OnWay administration.
Pricing can consider vehicle type/subtype, registration year, distance, estimated travel time, vehicle class/condition, selected options, luggage, stops, waiting, exclusive-seat rules and other configurable factors.
Route and time suitability come first. Other configurable ranking factors can include membership, vehicle condition/type/year, driver rating, reliability, pickup distance, detour and requested options.
These are planned membership levels for both drivers and passengers. Everyone starts at Bronze and can progress based on configurable performance and community factors.
Route overlap describes how much of the driver’s planned route is the same as the passenger’s required route.
A detour is extra distance or time the driver needs to travel away from the normal route to pick up or drop off a passenger.
ETA means Estimated Time of Arrival, such as when a driver is expected to reach the pickup point or destination.
A no-show occurs when a confirmed driver or passenger does not appear at the agreed place/time and does not properly cancel.
The planned payment model supports both Card and Cash, with driver earnings, OnWay fees/commissions, wallet balances and payouts handled according to configurable rules.
Not yet. The Driver App and Passenger App are currently planned as Coming Soon.
